Keep this

Hauling inventory: approximate pile length × width × height; longest piece; wood/metal/shingles; loose hardware; carry distance; gate width; surface under the pile.

Describe the pile, not the old shed

After demolition, the useful estimate details are pile dimensions, material types, the longest pieces, and how close a trailer can get. A photo with a familiar object for scale can help.

Keep sharp debris contained

Do not leave loose nails or screws scattered around grass and driveways. Keep small hardware in a rigid container and stack metal panels flat where they cannot shift in wind.

Separate restricted materials

The City of Kearney landfill lists chemicals, batteries, gas, oil, fertilizers, and propane bottles as items it does not accept. Keep them out of the shed pile and confirm an appropriate disposal path separately.

Protect the loading route

Move vehicles and open gates before arrival. If the route crosses soft turf, note that in advance rather than waiting until the trailer is on site.

Agree on the finish point

Decide whether the job includes only loading the pile or also collecting small fragments and sweeping the staging area. A clear finish point prevents different expectations.
